GirlfriendsCafe.com was born out of a 20+ [We quit counting] year friendship of two women who met over a cup of coffee.  Our meeting was coincidental to say the least.  Neither of us had any mutual friends and we lived on opposite ends of the city.  The only thing we had in common was the need to track down one particular man. Well, that’s another story and another website.  Moving right along ... we hit it off and became the best of friends.

Both of us were single parents of boys. We watched each other’s children grow up.  There were elementary school programs, high school graduations, birthday’s, weddings and calls to meet at the hospital for new births. There were men in our lives who came and went and some who stayed.  One in particular whose gift was a bicycle on a 40th birthday ... needless to say that guy never got another date!   Late night cry sessions ... many more that were laugh sessions where we laughed so hard we peed our pants.

Dating was always an adventure for us. We always knew where the other one was going, who she was meeting and the phone number.  Hey, us girls have to stick together ... you know to make that call to the other to see how things are going ... and if badly ... could come up with a good excuse or dire emergency so the other could make a mad dash out of the blind date boredom routine.

We were there for each other on good days and bad hair days. Hey, it’s not easy being green, not to mention orange when the color that ended up on our hair didn’t even remotely resemble the picture on the box! Not to mention bad perms that made us look like poodles.

We have spent hours on the phone into the wee morning solving the problems of the world. We figure we could bring world peace in record time ... if only they would listen to us. 

Over the years we have lived anywhere from 5 to 3,000 miles away from each other as our lives took us into different directions. The miles and states that separated us never mattered. We are always there for each other, no questions asked. Just a phone call or email away. Afterall, that’s what girlfriends are for. Through thick and thin ... no miles or man will ever come between us.

So GirlfriendsCafe was designed for each of you ... whether you are single, married, divorced, widowed, moved to a new location, kids, no kids, professional, housewife, etc ... if you are female come on in and enjoy the fun meeting new friends and rekindling your friendships with old ones.
